2016 Cadillac ELR with Performance Package
Rare 2016 Cadillac ELR plug in hybrid with the performance package, a concept car that made it to production largely unchanged. It uses 2 electric motors to drive the front wheels that run off a Lithium battery. The engine acts as a generator that recharges the battery or powers the motors when the battery is depleted. They were produced in 2014 & 2016. About 2318 were made in 2014 and 523 in 2016. During the year off, many improvements were made for the 2016 including: Horsepower increased from 217 to 233, torque increased from 295 to 373, 0-60 times decreased 1.5 seconds to 6.4, re-tuning of the adaptive suspension for better ride and handling, engine management software updated, revised front grill and wreathless crest badge add to the sleek and aerodynamic design, regenerative braking system reconfigured, brakes were upgraded for better response, wireless charging, Cadillac Cue upgrades include improved system speed and performance-faster and more accurate map loading& voice command execution-redesigned nav interface-single press mute navigation ect, So the 2016 is much improved over the 2014 and is very rare. Additionally, in 2016 a performance package was added as an option. This added unique styled 20" sport alloy wheels, performance tires, Brembo 4-piston front brake calipers with the Cadillac logo, sport steering wheel with thicker rim, & unique steering and suspension revisions for better handling, Of the 523 produced for 2016, about 50 reportedly had the performance package. The majority were white or black with dark red I believe reading was an extra cost option. 394 of the 2016s had ebony or black interiors and only 129 cashmere as this one has. This car may be the only dark red 2016 with the performance package and cashmere interior which will no doubt lead to increased value over time. It spent time in a body shop bringing the exterior and interior to near perfect condition. There was no body damage as shown in the Car Fax report, just minor imperfections. Most front seating surfaces were replaced with factory covers. The whole car was polished and waxed to give it a showroom look (about $1200 just for that). It has 4 new Continental sport all season radials and a new windshield. The windows are ceramic tinted which reduces heat gain. It comes with 4 new factory ELR branded rubber floor mats an older front Weather Teck floor mats. One imperfection is a little bubbling on the center stack. A replacement can be found on Ebay.
