This SeaRey amphibious aircraft was extensively rebuilt and converted to LSX configuration in 2015, creating a highly upgraded two-place aircraft capable of operating from both land and water. The aircraft is listed with approximately 380 hours and has received substantial structural, electrical, avionics, engine, landing-gear, cockpit, and airframe improvements over the course of its ownership.

The aircraft was repainted by Flying Colors in Leesburg, Florida, and more recent improvements include differential hand brakes, a replacement Rotax 912ULS engine, a five-year rubber replacement, and a new Warp Drive carbon-fiber propeller.

2015 Rebuild History

The aircraft's documented history states that the original Classic kit was built by Dave Lima in 2011 and later purchased by SeaRey instructor Daniel Myers. After a hard landing damaged the landing gear, the fiberglass hull and wings were reported not to have been damaged.

Angel Rivera, who had approximately 20 years of experience building kits under contract at the factory, was then hired to rebuild the aircraft from the ground up in 2015, with the exception of the wings. The rebuild incorporated numerous LSX components and upgrades throughout the airframe, controls, cockpit, landing gear, electrical system, and supporting structures.

The aircraft also received new DuPont paint over the entire airframe by Flying Colors in Leesburg, Florida.

With its extensive LSX conversion, documented rebuild history, updated Rotax powerplant, newer carbon-fiber propeller, ADS-B capability, differential brakes, and substantial list of structural and systems upgrades, this SeaRey presents a much more complete story than a typical basic amphibious aircraft listing. Its ability to operate from both runways and suitable water surfaces provides the versatility SeaRey aircraft are known for.
