Description
1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS Drag Car
This 1969 Camaro RS is a fresh drag racing build with no track time and only about two hours of street run time. The interior is all new, and while designed as a race car, provisions were included for limited street use with a 20-gallon fuel cell, large Flex-A-Lite dual fan radiator, transmission oil cooler, fuel gauge, speed indicator, lights, and the ability to run on pump 93 fuel. The chassis and frame are custom built for drag racing, featuring a polycarbonate windshield and windows, removable fiberglass front clip and hood, 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes, back half 4-link suspension, Denny’s nitrous driveshaft, Kirkey seats, and a 9” spool Moser rear end with 40 spline axles and 4.88:1 gears. Power comes from a 632ci Merlin IV tall deck big block built by Skip White Performance, still on break-in oil and never sprayed with nitrous. It includes Scat forged crank and rods, JE forged pistons, Comp hydraulic roller cam, AFR 385cc heads, and Comp Ultra Pro Magnum rocker arms—dyno tested at 1,067 hp and 862.9 lb-ft torque naturally aspirated on 93 octane. Backing it is a PTC-built 2-speed Powerglide with REID SFI-certified case and flywheel, paired to an M&M shifter. Fuel delivery is handled by a Holley Sniper Stealth 4500 EFI with a Nitrous Outlet Stinger plate system capable of up to 600 hp in 50 hp increments, fully integrated with the EFI nitrous control. This Camaro has no HVAC or wipers, and all windows are fixed up with vent inserts. A serious, no-compromise big-tire drag car, freshly built and ready for its first passes.
