Description
1941 Plymouth Special Deluxe All-Steel Big Block Sedan
This custom-built 1941 Plymouth Special Deluxe, finished as a Petty Tribute Plymouth, is an all-steel hot rod built for both performance and presence. Under the hood is a 1970 Ford 429 Big Block transformed with a Scat-forged 502 stroker kit, .030 over, producing 520+ cubic inches, 520 HP, and 620 torque with an 830 Holley (currently running a modified 750 Holley). With 9.5 compression and stout internals, it can easily be upgraded to 700+ horsepower. Power is delivered through a Tremec 5-speed with Lakewood bell housing and Tilton hydraulic throw-out bearing to a new Winters 9” rear axle with Moser axles, triangular 4-link, and rear sway bar. The Mustang II Heidts front suspension with 1 3/8” splined sway bar, Wilwood brakes (6-piston front / 4-piston rear), and power rack steering ensure modern handling and stopping power. Custom Spectre forced-air induction with fenderwell headers and side-exit Warlock exhaust deliver both sound and performance. Additional features include a 20-gallon baffled stainless fuel tank with Holley pump, Painless wiring, Powermaster hi-torque starter, and a fully finished interior from a Lincoln Mark VII LSC with 3-point belts. Initially built in 1998, this car is a two-time Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour “Long Hauler” and comes complete with vinyl racing numbers and lettering. A unique blend of vintage steel and modern performance, this Special Deluxe is a true one-of-a-kind build ready for its next chapter.
