The previous owner performed bodywork and painted the car to driver quality, so the foundation is solid for someone looking to bring this car back to its full glory. While most of the extra parts are included, there are a few missing, but what remains is substantial and includes many of the original components.
The car is equipped with a 428 FE engine, which was reportedly freshened up with a combination of new and used parts from a reputable engine builder. While the engine hasn’t been dyno-tested, it's primed for performance, and I had planned on taking it to my engine guy for further testing. The car also features an automatic transmission and a Roush composite NASCAR-style air cleaner, enhancing both its performance and appearance. The unique design of the Torino Talladega is evident, with fabricated headlight inserts for a race-inspired look, and extended fender flares that push the grill forward with lights hidden behind it.
The car comes with the necessary VIN stampings on the inner fender aprons, ensuring authenticity. The rubber seals around the grill and headlights are in place to keep air out and complete the race-inspired look. While the car is missing a few key components, such as the radiator, fuel lines, brake lines, and rear drums, it does have a new brake booster and master cylinder. The car also needs carpets and a front windshield but comes with a rear window. All the miscellaneous moldings are present, and while it’s a project, it’s an exciting opportunity for someone who’s ready to take on a restoration with a solid foundation.
