1988 Kenworth T800 Cummins Big Cam NTC 365 (400) IV , Eaton 15 Speed, DS402 3.70 Rears, Reyco Springs I bought this truck in August of 2018, and spent until October of 2023 restoring it to try my hand at being an owner operator. Decided being an owner op just isn't for me. Hate to get rid of the truck , but can't afford to have it just sit. The following things have been done to the truck during the restoration process and the 3 months I drove it. I only put about 17,000 miles on it in that period. The Odometer showed about 650,000 when I bought the truck and works, but I am unsure if it has ever rolled over. So the truck either has 666,265 or 1,666,265 miles on it. Engine - Cummins Big Cam IV NTC 365 built to 400 specs. CPL 827. Engine was taken completely out of the truck and rebuilt entirely in 2019. Full rebuild including new oil pump, water pump, air compressor, thermostats, belts, etc... Fuel System- PT pump rebuilt in November 2023, new suction line from tank HVAC System- Replaced rusted out HVAC box on firewall with a new aluminum one, new heater core, evaporator, blowers, AC Compressor, Dryer, and Lines. Steering - New U Joints in steering shaft, new steering gear box, new wheel bearings, seals, races, S Cam bushings, brake drums and shoes and oil hubs on steer axle. Also replaced front leaf springs and hanger bushings. Driveline - New clutch installed when engine was rebuilt, new U Joints. Shimmed forward drive axle to correct tolerances. Replaced differential in rear drive axle ( has a warranty until 1/2025) replaced wheel bearings, seals, races on drive hubs. New 5th wheel bushings, and a Minimizer slick plate installed. Exhaust System- Replaced all exhaust from Turbo back, including new chrome elbows and Lincoln Chrome 7" by 9' Bullhorn pipes. Installed the Dirks Classic Truck Air to Electric wiper conversion kit Paint Job- Truck was painted from 2021-2022. Painted Toyota Barcelona Red. Fuel tanks and interior dash panels painted also. Sleeper was removed during paint, cab and sleeper bushings replaced. Frame painted gloss black. Replaced many seals, like window and door seals. hood seals, and cab to sleeper seal. Interior- Tons of custom touches inside, lots of chrome trim and accents. Replaced the plastic shell around the upper console. Custom Skar Audio sound system. Pioneer head until, 4 Speakers, a 12" sub in a ported box, and 2 amps. Lined sleeper floor and mattress panels with Killmat. New Windshields. Power and Coax for CB ready for hookup. Custom Exterior Touches- Truck has many added Chrome and stainless accents. New bumper, drop visor, window chops, bug shield, hood mirrors, tank fairings, deck plate. Stainless light panel between tanks. Over 100 exterior LED lights. All 10 aluminum wheels are original to the truck and have been polished. Plus lots of other things There are a few minor issues worth mentioning. The forward axle temp gauge doesn't work. The fuel gauge works, but can be inaccurate at times. The oil pan gaskets does leak a bit, I have a new updated gasket that I will include with the truck. The transmission is starting to make some noise in 8th gear when warmed up. Still shifts in and out of gear fine. From what I can tell its the original transmission and is probably getting worn out.
